Thank you for choosing Divine Window Decor, your premier source for window coverings!
What is the difference between a blind and a shade you ask. A blind is a window covering that has slats and is made from a hard material like wood, wood composites and metal. The ability to turn the slats helps you to control light and privacy. These are ideal for many different reasons. With recent federal mandates, these no longer have the pull cord that makes you feel like you are lifting weights every time you want to raise your blind. A cordless lift with a wand to tilt is the new standard. Quality manufacturers enable us to get blinds as wide as eight feet for those nice picture windows. All you do is put your hand under the bottom rail and push. The spooling mechanism does the lifting for you.
Blinds are a great option for those who like to control the light and privacy throughout the day and aren’t anxious to lift the blinds and put them out of the window view as much as possible. For those with pets who like to look outside, you can raise the blind up a foot or so and then still turn the slats to control light and privacy. These are easy to clean pet hair off and to wash off an occasional muddy paw.
Route-less blinds (no hole cut in the middle of each slat multiple times) offer tighter closure and more light blocking. This avoids that vertical line of pin holes of light reflecting onto the TV and a higher level of darkness for bedrooms. The view through has been increased with a 2 ½” slat size which also makes the window feel larger. Fauxwood blinds, made from wood composites are available in stains and colors to look like real wood. Real wood blinds have beautiful stains and finishes besides whites. Metal blinds are still around with enhancements like metallic finishes and larger slats. Add a valance or a decorative vertical tape to elevate the look of this tried-and-true window covering.
We look forward to helping you find the perfect solution combining design and practicality.
