Custom Shades- Fabrics, lightweight with low-profile stacks.
Thank you for choosing Divine Window Decor, your premier source for window coverings!
What is the difference between a blind and a shade you ask. A shade is a window covering that is made with fabric. These are lighter weight than slatted blinds and when raised in the window have a low profile and minimum stack to clear the window view the best. This style of window covering is best suited for those who like to see out their windows as much as possible.
Shades offer a variety of fabrics and lift systems. You can take advantage of the flexibility of top down bottom up operation to control privacy levels, like in a honeycomb shade. There are also roller shades, Silhouettes and Pirouette sheer shades to name a few. A Roman style shade uses designer fabrics like we do for custom draperies. These are available in different opacities such as sheer, semi sheer or light filtering and room darkening fabric versions. Motorization, retractable and cordless lifts provide ease of use enabling you to reach the top of tall windows. Quality manufacturers let us go as wide as ten feet for those nice picture windows.
A ”combination” shade is a great option for those who like the highest level of control for light and privacy throughout the day. A Silhouette sheer shade allows you to see outside while having daytime privacy and an interior fabric vane that you can turn for added nighttime privacy. Some are referred to as a “dual shade”. This means that you are covering your window twice, with two different fabric opacities built into one shade which operate independently. Like a roller shade that has a screen fabric so you can see out during the day as well as a room darkening fabric. Or maybe a honeycomb shade with a sheer and room darkening built into one.
We look forward to helping you find the perfect solution combining design and practicality.
